ALL FALL DOWN (Is there anyone out there?) Is there anyone out there, Step up - throw me a line Lead me out of the madness Leave the dark & chaos behind Sit right down and power up your window on the world Is that the only way to see The passion and the poison And the fury and the fun Will it lead you to the truth Or will it stuff your head with junk? And if they told you to stay, would you be a good dog? Wrap up and blow you away - could you turn the other cheek? Only shadows and light But the puppets pull the strings And we all fall down All fall down (Is there anyone in there?) Is there anyone in there? Losing track of the time Window or mirror? Samaritan line? The ray gun burns a picture on the inside of your head You recognise the staring eyes The stab of panic freezing As you see its far too late You recognise that you've become Everything you hate And if they told you to stay, would you be a good dog? Wrap up and blow you away - could you turn the other cheek? Only shadows and light But the puppets pull the strings And we all fall down All fall down

Masterplan 04:03
MASTERPLAN Not for the open minded Welcome to this game we play Totalitarian vision But Charlie's plan was far too great Now we live with thoughts that facts are make-believe Deduced for the sinners' end and all that's in between So let's rewind six thousand years To the day when they thought it all began Two different worlds but still the same But the story's not a scam It's all part of the masterplan Don't ask why we're here When the question's really how Isaac's constellations And falling apples to the ground Take just six days to build the Grand Design? Or simply take an ape and turn it into Man?

Elemental 05:43
ELEMENTAL At a certain level, there are forces we control Deeper forces weak and strong can sway the big dice roll A cloudy smear is all we know and guess at what's inside Still there's something deeper down where greater secrets hide Its under the spiral blueprint Deeper than blood and bone Elemental - the mass inside the shell Elemental - water beneath the well Elemental - the fire beneath the stone Elemental - deeper than blood and bone A B C T P F E then 50 million more The bases string out endlessly - but still there's something more C4H2NO3 its carbon's chemistry Still there's something deeper down that makes up you and me Its wound in the double helix Deeper than blood and bone Elemental - the mass inside the shell Elemental - water beneath the well Elemental - the fire beneath the stone Elemental - deeper than blood and bone

CROW FLIES EAST Crow flies east on the back of the wind Lend me your eyes for an alternate view Where do you go? What do you know? Show me the world that we've twisted and changed Take me to places that I've never seen Where do you go? What do you know? Lend me wings to fly away Into the night And somewhere in between the madness Tainted dreams will paint the sadness Spread your wings and let me fly away

Argument 23:40
ARGUMENT Part i Instrumental Part ii What was that? All your moods are governed By the phases of the moon Thought I'd got you covered But I may have spoke too soon Hard to take the landscape shifting After all these years Find the whole thing crashing in a Heap around my ears Left/right/up/down/front/back Wrong/right/day/night/black/white What's that? What was that you said? What was that? Part iii Stumbling forwards in spite of myself The next to be so disappointed in fortune and wealth Here am I, nice as pie Brings a tear to your eye I got nothing to say Make em all go away Not much of a poet, more of a thief Words are like leaves in the wind when you lie through your teeth Here they fly, in your eye Makes you wish you could cry I got nothing to say Make it all go away Make it all go away Wipe the tear from your eye Life's a bitch then you die I got nothing to say Make em all go away Part iv Instrumental Part v And in the night I stand beneath the backstreet light I read the words that you sent to me I can take the afternoon but night time comes around too soon You can't know what you mean to me One day soon... Part vi One day soon you'll look for me and all you'll find is memory a spark of what there used to be and fading fast The future's never ours to see We always talk of memory Seeing what we want to see Within our past Never sure of what to say Until the moment passed away Before we know it day by day is gone Everyday the little fear The miracles that put me here Suddenly will disappear I've got to get some action in my life Part vii Coming to in a sea of flesh Waves of faces crashing round my head Emmas and Gemmas and ethyls and esters And pheromones churning a chemical stew What the hell am I doing here? Can't touch down Sink or swim Going down I don't hear What you say Going down Pounding sound and shrieking laughter Think I'll blow my head if I don't leave What the hell am I doing here? Can't touch down Sink or swim Going down I don't hear What you say Going down Part viii Summer's gone and fall is here Skies are cold and bright and clear Darling Takes me back to other times Other days and other skies Calling We were flying so high Feeling we can't come down Never felt like before Always seem to make you cry But never seem to say goodbye We don't seem to do that no more Never need to have to try To give each other alibis We don't need to do that no more No more Running through Novemberland You and me were hand in hand Darling Takes me back to other skies Other dreams and other lives Calling Andy, Pod & Rob

about

Psi Phi’s third album is of course excellent and very recognisable as a product from the band for those who know their previous work in terms of production, material and sound.
Pod maintains his masterful control over guitar riffs, chords and colours, Andy delivers both funk and rock in equal measures on bass whilst Rob maintains his tight, effective and non-predictable drum lines to drive everything forward cleanly and rhythmically; all without muddying the crunch of the overall product.
This album is presented as a pseudo 2 sided style record, with “Side One” composed of individual tracks whist “Side Two” takes the form of a kind of prog suite.
Proudly ambitious Geek Rock that's actually enjoyable to listen to, for the third time in a row Psi Phi delivered the passion, the poison, the fury and the fun.

about

Psi Phi Sheffield, UK

Pigeonholed as unclassifiable since 1999!
Responsible for perpetrating an extremely intelligent, varied and talented form of rock, Psi Phi gave genuine entertainment on all levels.
Pod, Andy and Rob were purveyors of well crafted classic rock with catchy tunes, some singalong and a bit poppy, some positively powerchordtastic - rather marvellously so.
